The burning sensation filled my nose. My lungs became tight and desperate for air, I woke with a start and peered around the room, it looked empty with the white fog that filled the air. I felt wet, and hot. I heard sirens and saw a bright light coming from the outside in the hall. I looked closer to where I was at, back in my room like always whenever I fell asleep with my mom. She would put me back in my room so she could have more room on the bed. The door was cracked and let in a heap of light and heat. I looked for my bunny, which wasn’t by my side. My lungs ached with pain. I panicked and searched all over the bed for my bunny. I slid off the covers and on the floor, thinking it might have dropped. Then I remembered it might have been left in my mom’s room. I opened the door and my eyes watered to the heavy fog, that made everything slow down. I quickly marched to my mom’s room. I reached to grab the handle, a bright light coming from my mom’s room. I reached out to grab the handle. When my flesh touched the metal knob, a hot sting ran up my arm and my hand burned. I bounced back and hit the floor, screaming and crying.
